Hi, I’m Ed Chin
My goal is to help make Gresham a safer
community so that we can all thrive.
Rebuilding the the trust between officers and the community is a top priority. Bridging the gap between businesses supporting local law-enforcement and connecting to the community will prove to be instrumental to the City of Gresham.
We need to make our city an attractive place for law-enforcement officers to want to live, work and protect. Some possible ideas are to bring back the window signs of a safe house or safe places for someone that may feel endangered so that they can recognize a safe place to get away from whatever might be trouble in them.
Work on more community events that involve police presence not only to protect but also to engage and communicate with the community.

Engage with the McGruff cartoon dog to help create awareness with children about the benefits of working together with officers and the community.
The communities help is always needed to help solve cases and without them, it is not effective.
Better Community for Everyone
Prioritize community engagement and involvement of reporting the ghost trailers/RVs. In addition, making aware of and inviting vehicles or visitors to the area. Trying to create more city partnerships with a nonprofit in our area to find housing solutions to get folks off the streets
Connect community support in order to engage neighborhood associations with helpful solutions for camper/unwanted guests.
Gresham Business Support
I want to make sure that small business are able to survive and thrive in Gresham. As a small business owner I have benefited greatly from my introduction to the Gresham Area Chamber of Commerce. Connecting local businesses to resources from the Chamber of Commerce, Small Business Administration and city government can be a game changers.
The promoting our city with tourism also helps to to support small businesses in our community. I will strive to advocate for small business as a lifeline for our community.
